Focused, 1:1 professional support at every stage of your journey.

What Mentoring Is

Mentoring at APs Hub is structured, individual guidance designed to help you think strategically about your progression toward Clinical Psychology.

It is not therapy, and it is not generic career advice.

It is professional input grounded in doctoral training standards, NHS recruitment realities, and applied psychological thinking.

Mentoring is tailored to your current stage — whether you are clarifying your direction, strengthening Assistant Psychologist applications, exploring alternative routes into training, or refining your readiness for DClinPsy selection.

Sessions can be booked as focused, one-off appointments, or used more strategically across different stages of your journey as your needs evolve.

It is to help you develop clarity, direction, and alignment with what doctoral panels are actually assessing.

What Mentoring Can Help With

Mentoring may support you in:

  • Gaining a clearer understanding of the pathway and how your current strengths and gaps relate to it

  • Clarifying your next strategic steps

  • Identifying and developing core competencies relevant to doctoral training

  • Strengthening your applications

  • Reflecting constructively on unsuccessful attempts

  • Positioning your experience more effectively within applications and interviews

  • Navigating the different stages of DClinPsy selection

  • Improving interview clarity, structure, and performance

  • Considering alternative routes into training where appropriate

The focus is always personalised and stage-specific.
